We had a buyer’s inspection conducted on Tuesday. Nothing surprising was found. The home was built in 1900 or 1910 and updated periodically since then. The inspection report recommends that we improve the post and beam foundation. There is plenty of room in the crawl space to work. Other recommendations include improving the siding and paint, replacing the roof over the porch, replacing the water heater, and updating some of the electrical outlets go GFCI. Not on the inspection, but needed is the addition of outlets in the shop.

The seller agreed to an additional reduction in cost of $20K to help with the repairs. This is in addition to the seller’s installation of a new septic system, and the negotiated price from an original $359K.

We’re looking at a move in date around the middle of November 2019!

Our tasks now include buying the necessary items to furnish a home as we sold everything when we left Hawaii and Alaska. This includes a certified wood burner, bathroom fixtures and cabinets, furniture, tools, and household items.
